INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service is helping entrepreneurs launch their business ideas with two new sessions of the Opening Soon Inc. business development training program for new and existing businesses. Sessions will take place Feb. 16 and Feb. 19 at the WVSU Economic Development Center (EDC) on Charleston’s West Side.
Opening Soon Inc. is a two-part series focusing on ideation and wellness. In the ideation phase, participants define, market and plan their business launch. In the wellness phase, which focuses on both personal and business wellness, participants learn, share and develop their personal idea with the ultimate goal of launch.
“Opening Soon Inc. is about launching the minimum viable product to the global market in 90 days,” said GO Journey Inc. CEO Melissa Hill, who will lead the sessions. “The outcomes from the launch will result in data that will be used for the participant’s business plan and startup budget. We are removing all barriers and asking everyday people with a dream to open their heart to learning. We will help them document the product and connect to the global trade market. The workshops are hands-on and combined with individual coaching and mentoring to ensure success.”
Ideation workshops will be held Feb. 16 and Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants need only attend one of the two sessions. Admission is free, with registration required. Registration information is available at or by calling (304) 720-1401.
Hill also offers open office hours at the EDC on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the second and fourth weeks of each month.
A WVSU graduate with a degree in business administration and marketing, Hill is an author, consultant, social entrepreneur and founder of the business development and consulting firm GO Journey Inc.
