INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The West Virginia State University (WVSU) Board of Governors (BOG) has voted to retain AGB Search to assist in the search process for the next president of the University.
The higher education consulting company will work with a 16-member presidential search committee to identify the 12 president of WVSU.
“With the leadership of AGB Search and the appointed presidential search committee, we expect that this search will be inclusive, collaborative and transparent,” said WVSU BOG Board Chair Charles E. Jones., Jr.
The presidential search committee will be chaired by Charleston area attorney and WVSU BOG Secretary Katherine Dooley and is composed of a cross section of the University community including representatives of students, faculty, staff, alumni, administration and the local community.

According to a timeline for the presidential search proposed by the BOG and approved by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, screening of candidates will take place through the spring, with a goal of having finalists on campus for interviews April 27-May 1.
