May 13, 2026

INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) 4-H program will host a free summer day camp entitled “Engineer Your Future” on the university’s Institute campus July 13-17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camp is open to youths entering 7th through 10th grades in the fall.

Participants will spark creativity and build real-world skills with hands-on activities. Focus areas include artificial intelligence, engineering, nutrition and food preparation, financial literacy, podcasting and more.

“We want to spark curiosity and give students a safe space to explore,” said WVSU 4-H Specialist Vathani Amarasingham. “By the end of camp, we hope each student leaves inspired and ready to keep learning.”

The event is the latest in a series of camps being hosted by WVSU 4-H throughout the summer. Additional camps focus on neuroscience, cybersecurity and other themes.

Details and registration for each camp are available at wvstateu.edu/4h
