INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will host a free workshop on culinary mushroom production Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sprouting Farms Appalachian Croft, Resource and Training Center in Talcott, W.Va.
The workshop will educate attendees on both indoor and outdoor growing methods for culinary mushrooms.
“Cultivated mushroom production is something that suits West Virginia extremely well,” said WVSU Extension Agent Brad Cochran. “Whether it is in one of our hardwood forests or an indoor production site, the opportunities are tremendous. The economic potential of cultivated mushrooms also makes this a fantastic opportunity for landowners looking to diversify.”
