INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will host a series of free workshops on a variety of agricultural topics at Sprouting Farms Appalachian Croft, Resource and Training Center in Talcott, W.Va., beginning with a Pest Management for Vegetables session Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Additional workshops will cover pest management for fruits and composting techniques.
“These workshops will cover the basics of pest management and composting for both the homeowner and the commercial producer,” WVSU Extension Agent Brad Cochran said. “Insects and diseases can be detrimental to crop production, while good nutrient management through composting can help in the overall sustainability of your agricultural operation.”
