Two Gold Awards, a Silver Award and an Outstanding Professional Skill Award were presented to projects promoting the organization’s outreach initiatives.
“We are thrilled that our communications team is being acknowledged at the national level for their work,” said Dr. Ami Smith, associate vice president and director of WVSU Extension Service. “These awards are a testament to the quality marketing and communications work being produced here at State.”
The booklet for the West Virginia African-American Heritage Tour, a self-guided audio tour produced in conjunction with the National Park Service, won both a Gold Award and an Outstanding Professional Skill Award in the Publications for Diverse Audiences category. The poster for the fifth annual West Virginia Urban Agriculture Conference won a Gold Award for poster design, while a recent WVSU Extension Service brochure won a Silver Award for publications.
In addition to the project awards, Director of Communications Matt Browning received the ACE Pioneer Award, which honors members who demonstrate exceptional leadership and technical skills and make significant contributions to ACE during their early careers. Browning was also recently named Marketing Director-Elect on the ACE Board of Directors.
The awards, part of ACE’s annual Critique and Awards program, will be presented at the 2018 ACE Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., in August.
