Media Summit, College of Arts and Humanities Convocation Set for Tuesday

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The West Virginia State University (WVSU) Department of Communications and Media Studies will present its annual Media Summit on Tuesday, April 29, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the theater of the Davis Fine Arts Building.
The keynote speaker will be WVSU graduate and freelance television producer Charlise Holmes. Based in Hollywood, Holmes is known for her work on such television series’ as “Dog and Beth,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Fashionation” and “Ruby.”
Immediately following the Media Summit at 11:30 a.m. the College of Arts and Humanities will present its spring convocation, “On the Importance of Water.”
Also presented in the theater of the Davis Fine Arts Building, the convocation will serve as a reaction to the recent water crisis in the state of West Virginia, according to Interim Dean Scott Woodard.
Each of the departments which make up the College of Arts and Humanities will present its perspective on water and its place in languages, art, communications and music.
Refreshments will be served at both events and all WVSU students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
