INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The inaugural members of the newly formed West Virginia State University Board of Visitors have been announced. The board is a volunteer organization designed to assist the university in maintaining and enhancing the university’s quality and standing in the region and the nation.
Members serve as advocates, ambassadors and advisors and assist in resource development for the continued enhancement and support of the university.
“The Board of Visitors will serve a vital role in helping the university to tell our story not only in West Virginia but around the country,” said WVSU Interim President Ericke S. Cage. “The board is a tremendous cross section of business and civic leaders who each bring a wealth of knowledge and a perspective that will help advance the university forward.”
The inaugural members of the Board of Visitors are: The board will meet twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Board members are appointed by the president of the university to three-year terms.
