Home Dairy Production the Topic of Next West Virginia State University Ag Talk Tuesday Session September 8

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service’s monthly Ag Talk Tuesday series continues Tuesday, September 8, at 6 p.m. with a discussion about at-home dairy production. WVSU’s Assistant Program Director for Agriculture and Natural Resources Dr. Annette Ericksen, who operates Twin Maples Farm in Milton, West Virginia, will share information and answer questions with participants live via Zoom.
“From the equipment needed for operation to animal selection and care, we’ll be discussing all components of home dairy production and maintenance,” Ericksen said.
During the conversation, Ericksen will touch on how to care for animals and their udders, proper cleaning, milking procedures, care of the milk, pasteurization, cheese making, and any other home dairy topic participants would like to learn more about.
The free series began in July and takes place the second Tuesday of each month. Participants register to join the live event and can submit questions ahead of time through the and platforms or via email.
