INSTITUTE, W.Va. – A reception with local artists featured in the “Weird Sisters” art exhibition will take place Thursday, Oct. 24, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Della Brown Taylor Hardman Fine Art Gallery at West Virginia State University (WVSU).
“Weird Sisters” is a mixed media exhibition featuring the work of Charleston area artists Ashley Hoey, Jamie Miller, Debra Rayhill and Elizabeth Turner.
The exhibition will be on display through Nov. 8 in the gallery, which is located in the Davis Fine Arts Building on WVSU’s Institute campus. Thursday’s reception is free and open to the public.
“The paintings, drawings and mixed media works you see feature/celebrate the essence of women in ways unique to each artist’s vision,” said WVSU Assistant Professor of Art and Gallery Director Zachary Fitchner. “The grouping of artworks reads like one collective voice while simultaneously emphasizing uniqueness and individuality.”
“Weird Sisters” may be viewed from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
