The West Virginia State University Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee welcomes you to celebrate Women’s History Month. Every year March is designated Women’s History Month by Presidential proclamation. The month is set aside to honor women’s contributions in American history.
West Virginia State University’s highlight event is celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday, March 8, 2021. International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is pleased to announce an opportunity to recognize women who have made a difference in the lives of our employees via the She is the Reason page. Similar to the “Compliment a Colleague” recognition system, the She is the Reason internal campaign is an just one way to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.
