Traditional BSN Program
The Department of Nursing at West Virginia State University will open the application period for the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in January 2025. The link for the application will open on January 15, 2025. If you are not a current student, please reach out to the WVSU Admission’s office to apply to the school. You must be admitted to WVSU to be eligible to apply to the nursing program. The link for the Admission’s office is wvstateu.edu/admissions.aspx.
The application deadline for entry into the Fall 2025 cohort is June 15, 2025. You must submit all documentation by that date (including HESI Entrance Exam results) to be considered for the program. HESI testing opens on January 15, 2025, and is completed through Proctor U. Applicants are responsible for the cost of HESI testing. You can be enrolled in the prerequisites and apply to the program. HESI entrance examinations are required for this entry cycle and you must still meet GPA requirements (cumulative 2.5) for full consideration. Full acceptance is contingent upon the completion of all prerequisites with a “C” or better and submission of official transcripts. After June 15, 2025, applications are taken on a rolling cycle as submitted. Any applications submitted by June 15, 2025 will receive priority review. Applicants must be in sophomore standing to apply to the program.

LPN to BSN Program only:
The Department of Nursing at West Virginia State University opened the application period for the LPN to BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in December 2024. If you are not a current student, please reach out to the WVSU Admission’s office to apply to the school. You must be admitted to WVSU to be eligible to apply to the nursing program. The application deadline for entry into the Summer 2025 cohort is March 31, 2025. You must submit all documentation by that date. HESI and ATI entrance exams have been waived for 2025 entry only. You can be enrolled in the prerequisites and apply to the program but you must complete prior to full acceptance. You must still GPA requirements (cumulative 2.5) for full consideration. Full acceptance is contingent upon the completion of all prerequisites with a “C” or better and submission of official transcripts. No applications will be accepted after March 31, 2025. Any applications submitted by March 31, 2025 will receive priority review.
