Mission Statement AND GOALS
The National Center of Human Relations (NCHR) expands the unique historic image and influence of West Virginia State University as a “living laboratory of human relations”. The Center works to remove barriers from and build bridges to communication, understanding, and cooperation among people, groups, and institutions with a special focus on issues of human diversity and race relations.
The NCHR’s goals are to be attained through:
- Communication with local, state, and national constituencies.
- Conciliation among diverse populations.
- Citizen engagement in deliberative dialogue.
- Collaboration with campus and community groups whose mission
complements that of the Center.
