Make Your Benefits Elections
Once you’ve reviewed your employee benefits options, you must elect your valuable WVSU benefits within the initial enrollment period. If you are eligible for benefits, you have the month you are hired and the following two calendar months to select and enroll in the WVSU benefits program. Coverage for Medical and Basic Life becomes effective on the first day of the month following the date of employment or enrollment, whichever is later, provided that the employee is actively at work on the day coverage becomes effective. Participation in the Employer sponsored retirement plan is mandatory, contributions begin immediately. Employees have the option to enroll in the after-tax Standard Long Term Disability plan during the first month of employment.
If you have questions about your benefits, please contact Regina Powell, Benefits Manager, at powellre@wvstateu.edu or (304) 766-3152.
►Attend a Benefits Overview Session
You will need to make sure that you are scheduled for a benefits overview session. This is an opportunity for new members of Yellow Jacket Nation to gather and learn more about available benefits and have the opportunity to ask questions prior to making benefits elections.
