ACCUPLACER Placement Testing
The ACCUPLACER Placement Exam is designed for incoming and current West Virginia State University students who have not taken the ACT or SAT, or whose ACT or SAT scores are more than five years old.
The results of the ACCUPLACER exam are used to determine the appropriate placement for English, mathematics, and science courses. Proper course placement helps ensure students begin in courses that match their current academic skill level and provides the best opportunity for success.
Students who are admitted without ACT or SAT scores may still enroll at WVSU; however, until placement testing is completed, they will typically be placed into the lowest-level English and mathematics courses.
