Dr. Lee Young Named Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

After a national search, Dr. Lee Young has been named West Virginia State University’s new Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Dr. Young will officially join the university on Feb. 5.

An energetic, collaborative and innovative leader, Dr. Young has a long and successful career in higher education recruitment and retention that spans more than 30 years. He most recently served as the vice president for strategic enrollment management for the University of Houston – Clear Lake. 

He previously served as the associate vice president of urban academic initiatives at Texas A&M University, and prior to that as the associate vice president for enrollment management and student success at Pittsburg State University. He has also held leadership positions at Virginia Union University, North Carolina A&T State University and Indiana State University, among others. 

Dr. Young holds a doctorate of philosophy degree in urban higher education leadership from Jackson State University. He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Jackson State University.
