WVSU Student Groups to Host “Spooky Science Spookathon” Saturday, Oct. 28
INSTITUTE, W.Va. –- West Virginia State University (WVSU) students will host a free science event for the community this Saturday, Oct. 28, beginning at 9 a.m. on the school’s Institute campus.
The “Spooky Science Spookathon” will promote science through a variety of hands on activities and will also include a costume contest, face painting, raffle, a spooky walk of campus, and a haunted house with scientific demonstrations and activities.
The event is being organized by the Student Partnership for the Advancement of Cosmic Exploration and the American Chemical Society student chapters at West Virginia State University. Another student group, the Motivational Organization of New Artists, is also assisting in the Spookathon.
The goal of the event is to provide the community an opportunity to learn more about science as well as to promote the programs and departments that offer them at WVSU.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the Hamblin Hall front entrance followed by a costume contest at 10 a.m. and the Spooky Walk of campus at 11 a.m. The Haunted Science College will begin at 1 p.m. at Hamblin Hall.
The event is free and open to the public.
