West Virginia State University Offering Free Cybersecurity Awareness Seminar

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and West Virginia State University (WVSU) is offering a free seminar to help families safely navigate the internet in today’s ever-changing world.
The Healthy Families Cybersecurity Awareness Seminar will be available in-person or online via Zoom on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022. The seminar will begin at 6 p.m. in Hamblin Hall 107. Danielle Cox, Chief Information Security Officer with the West Virginia Office of Technology, will lead the seminar.
The seminar will help families understand the current digital landscape and how the internet directly impacts social, financial, and career growth. Viewers may learn about scams that target different age groups and how to identifying those scams; gain tools to make good cyber decisions with your personal data and online identity and know where to go for more resources and help. The seminar will help equip parents to raise responsible digital citizens.
