INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) has been ranked No. 4 in the nation on the College Consensus list of the top 50 Best Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for 2022.
“This recognition reinforces that West Virginia State University has much to offer students, no matter where they come from,” said WVSU President Ericke Cage. “As a diverse, 1890 land-grant institution, WVSU gives students the access and opportunities needed to succeed in today’s job market. College Consensus rankings combine the results of the most respected college ranking systems with the averaged ratings of thousands of real student reviews from around the web to create a unique college meta-ranking.
WVSU has the longest continuous accreditation of any public university in West Virginia and offers a variety of degree programs, including in nursing, engineering, computer science, and other STEM fields. The university recently announced plans to launch a Cybersecurity Innovation Center in fall 2022 and is in the planning process to begin offering its first doctoral degree program.
