Contact: Jack Bailey (304) 766-4109 jbaile19@wvstateu.edu INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The West Virginia State University Economic Development Center (WVSU EDC) and the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs will co-host a Minority Business Expo May 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The virtual event features presentations designed to connect entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses with resources and information.
“We invite minority-owned businesses throughout the state to join us and hear from federal, state and local officials, business owners and consultants who can help entrepreneurs take their business to the next level of growth and success,” said Tiffany Ellis-Williams, director of the WVSU EDC.
Themed “Level Up,” the Minority Business Expo will feature remarks from Secretary of State Mac Warner, who will share an overview of the services the office provides to small businesses, and a keynote address by Winchester Hopkins, owner of the credit repair firm Perfect Score Club.
Additional sessions focus on writing business plans, budgeting and record-keeping, business and personal credit, lending opportunities, and a panel discussion on pandemic challenges.
The Minority Business Expo is free to attend.
