West Virginia State University to Host “You be the Chemist Challenge” Feb. 28

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host the annual Dow, Inc. “You be the Chemist Challenge” beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, in the James C. Wilson University Union.
Students from 10 West Virginia middle schools will be competing in the challenge, an interactive academic contest that encourages students in grades 5-8 to explore chemistry concepts and their real-world applications.
Nearly 60 competitors are expected from the following West Virginia middle schools: Students compete against one another through numerous rounds of multiple-choice questions that test their knowledge of chemistry concepts, important discoveries and chemical safety awareness.
Competition will begin at 9 a.m. in room 134 of the University Union.
