Dr. Jose Ulises Toledo, associate vice president for administration with the WVSU Research and Public Service division, begins a one-year term immediately. The West Virginia Science and Research Council’s goal is to increase the capacity of the state and its colleges and universities to attract, implement and use cutting-edge, competitive research funds and infrastructure.
“I look forward to working with the council to ensure that all of our state institutions have a voice for access and equality to the state’s science and research resources,” Toledo said.
Members of the council provide expertise and policy guidance to the state regarding federal and state programs, including the National Science Foundation’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), the Research Challenge Fund and the former Research Trust Fund. Representatives of government, industry, business and academia make up the council.
