WVSU to Hold Founders Day and Day of Giving Celebration Wednesday, March 13

INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University (WVSU) will hold a special Founders Day and Day of Giving Celebration on Wednesday, March 13, beginning at noon in the lobby of the James C. Wilson University Union.
The celebration will feature a program beginning at 12:15 p.m. with remarks from WVSU President Anthony L. Jenkins, WVSU Registrar Emeritus Dr. John L. Fuller Sr., and WVSU SGA President Brandon Martinez.
The celebration is free and open to the public. Cupcakes will be served on a first come, first served basis.
Authorized by the U.S. Congress as a land-grant institution under the Second Morrill Act of 1890, the West Virginia Legislature established WVSU, on March 17, 1891, to provide education to African-American citizens.
