Contact: Kimberly Osborne (304) 766-3363 kosborne@wvstateu.edu INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will present a free series of workshops to help beginning and experienced gardeners learn a variety of agricultural growing and harvesting techniques on Wednesday, May 4, beginning at 10 a.m. on the WVSU campus in Institute.
The workshops will include sessions on topics such as small fruit production and alternative growing methods.
“We are blending traditional agricultural education like small fruit production with instruction on alternative management practices like aquaponics, which is soilless culture with fish,” said Melissa Stewart, assistant program director of WVSU Extension Service. “We’ve seen tremendous interest in these topics throughout our service area and are excited to share them with the Kanawha Valley on our own campus.”
