INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The annual West Virginia State University (WVSU) and West Virginia State University Foundation (WVSU Foundation) Black and Gold Gala will take place, Friday, April 8, at The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia in Charleston.
The black tie event recognizes the generosity of donors and community leaders while raising funds to further support student scholarships and educational programs at the University. In addition to donor recognition this year’s event will feature a special announcement regarding the University’s ongoing Campaign for WVSU, a capital campaign.
“This will truly be a special evening for West Virginia State, and one that alumni, family and friends of the University won’t want to miss,” said WVSU President Brian O. Hemphill. “Not only are we recognizing the groups and individuals that have given so generously to support the University, its students and programs, but we will also be making an exciting announcement about the Campaign for WVSU.”
The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a reception, followed by the program recognizing supporters of the University at 7:30 p.m. After the program and dinner, the Gala will continue with an evening of dancing to live music provided by The Motown Sounds of Touch Group. A silent auction will also be featured throughout the evening’s activities.
