WVSU’s Creators Program to Host Noted Photographer Steve Payne

Contact: Kimberly Osborne (304) 766-3363 kosborne@wvstateu.edu INSTITUTE, W.Va.West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) Creators Program workshop series continues with “The 10 Commandments for Creative Success,” a free lecture at the WVSU Economic Development Center (EDC) Tuesday, April 5, at 7:15 p.m. Noted photographer Steve Payne will speak as part of the program’s Creators Talk lecture series.
Payne will discuss the essential elements required for success in the increasingly competitive creative world, from the basic building blocks to long-term success formulas.
“I have spent my life in the arts, providing fine photography to industry, advertising agencies and private individuals,” said Payne. “I have always loved my work, the people I work with, and the final works we produce together. I have been blessed to find my place of service in the world.”
A noted photographer with more than 25 years experience, Payne’s commercial photography has been featured in hundreds of publications nationwide, and his fine art photography resides in corporate and private collections throughout the globe. Prior to forming Steve Payne Photography, he served as chief photographer for the West Virginia Department of Commerce and the Department of Culture & History.
The Creators Program is a series of community workshops focusing on skills and knowledge essential to creating for mass media and art. WVSU’s Cultural Activities office partners with the Arts Council of Kanawha Valley and the West Virginia Film Office on the series.
