“Companies that are prepared to sell their goods or services internationally can expect to see anywhere from a 5 to 20 percent revenue growth,” said Bill Houck, who will represent U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) at the seminar. “That is why exporting needs to be part of a company’s business model and a projected source for new revenue.”
According to the West Virginia Department of Commerce, since 2002, West Virginia exports have increased from $2.2 billion to $7.4 billion due to the commitment from West Virginia companies, from the first time exporter to the seasoned veteran, to explore new markets.
At the Sept. 9 seminar, panellists from the U.S. SBA, the Export Promotion Program of the West Virginia Development Office and the U.S. Commercial Service will outline the resources available to companies for adding and expanding export sales, followed by a question and answer session. Attendees can discuss their desire to add export sales for revenue expansion or share their business export experiences.
The seminar costs $10, and registration is required by visiting . Registrants can attend at the EDC or choose to watch a live stream online. The WVSU EDC is located at 1506 Kanawha Blvd. West in Charleston. Follow on Facebook and Twitter .
