West Virginia State University to Offer Class for Administrative Professionals

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – West Virginia State University (WVSU) will begin offering a Continuing Education class in September designed to help administrative professionals advance in their careers.
The class is a review class for those seeking to sit for the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) exam in March 2016 and also for those wanting to earn the advanced rating in Organizational Management (OM) issued by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).
The class will be offered on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 15, 2015, and continuing through Dec. 8, 2015. It will take place from 6-8 p.m. in room 112 of Cole Complex on WVSU’s Institute campus.
The focus of the class is to provide students a review of the major exam components such as: accounting principles, administrative procedures, advanced communication styles, document processing, records management, ethics, human resource law and business etiquette.
The class will have a mix of lecture time, class discussions and hands on activities. The cost is $100, plus materials. If students want to sit for the March 2016 exams, they will need to submit an official registration form to IAAP by Dec. 1, 2015. The cost to take the CAP exam for IAAP members is $400 and $525 for non-members. The cost to take the OM exam is $200 for IAAP members and $350 for non-members.
