CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Experience the growing economic community on Charleston’s West Side at the annual Business After Hours and Expo Thursday, Aug. 8, from 5-7 p.m. at the Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority. Department stores, supply stores, restaurants, banks and more will be on display at the networking event.
“The expo is a fantastic way to learn about the diverse range of businesses and non-profit organizations on the West Side,” said Stephanie Johnson, executive director of West Side Main Street (WSMS), a community revitalization program of West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service and the City of Charleston. “We had nearly 20 businesses attend last year and expect an even larger turnout this year.” The event is sponsored by Huntington Banks.
“The expo is another great opportunity to highlight the resurgent West Side business community,” said Bill Woodrum, associate dean and association director of WVSU Extension Service and a WSMS board member. “The past several years have added a lot of great new businesses to the area that complement the long-term community anchors for which the West Side is known. It is an exciting time to ‘Go West’!”
The expo costs $5 and includes food and beverages. Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority is located at 1525 Washington St. W. Parking is available between 7 St. and Horns Ave.
