INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Seeking to bolster economic development in the Kanawha Valley by supporting minority entrepreneurs, the Black Business Association Supporting Entrepreneurs (BBASE) will host a free open-forum networking and membership event at the West Virginia State University (WVSU) Economic Development Center Saturday, June 1, from 5-7 p.m. BBASE was launched in January by WVSU Extension Service to promote entrepreneurship, stimulate growth and serve as a resource for black-owned businesses by providing networking and mentoring opportunities. “We are holding this open forum for current and potential members interested in networking with other black professionals in the region,” said Sandra Moss, WVSU extension agent and cofounder of BBASE. A question and answer session with business experts will be part of the forum to ensure organizers are fully aware of the needs of BBASE members, Moss said. The WVSU Economic Development Center is located at 1506 Kanawha Blvd. West in Charleston.
