INSTITUTE, W.Va.A free networking meeting for local businesspeople will be held at the West Virginia State University (WVSU) Economic Development Center in Charleston Saturday, March 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is hosted by the Black Business Association Supporting Entrepreneurs (BBASE).
Launched in January by WVSU Extension Service, BBASE promotes entrepreneurship, stimulates growth and serves as a resource for black-owned businesses by providing networking and mentoring opportunities.
“We’ve gotten off to a strong start with our recent launch,” said Sandra Moss, WVSU extension agent for business development. “We welcome area business leaders to join us for this exciting networking opportunity to share ideas and meet other African-American entrepreneurs in the Kanawha Valley.”
Sim Fryson, a local businessman, entrepreneur and former president of Sim Fryson Motor Co., will speak at the event. Refreshments will be provided.
The Economic Development Center is located at 1506 Kanawha Blvd. in Charleston.
