Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Homecoming Boat Ride has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 8. We will still board tomorrow at Daniel Boone Park. Boarding begins at 7 p.m. and we will sail from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The Homecoming Awards Banquet will now be held tonight, Friday, October 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Charleston Marriott.

West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) athletic booster organization, the
National ‘W’ Club, will induct six new members into the Sports Hall of
Fame
with a brunch beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, in the James C. Wilson University
Union.

West Virginia State University will host a full slate of Homecoming activities kicking
off on Thursday, October 6, and culminating with the WVSU National Alumni Association
Homecoming
After Party on Saturday, October 8, at the Charleston Marriott.

WVSU Extension Service and the WV DEP Watershed Improvement Branch will host a rain
barrel workshop at WVSU’s campus on Saturday, October 1, from 1-3 p.m.

There will be a COVID-19 vaccination and testing clinic, Tuesday,
Sept.
27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the James C. Wilson University Union conducted by the
Partnership
of African American Churches (PAAC). The updated COVID booster shots from
Pfizer and Moderna will be available for those who are eligible.

A West Virginia State University (WVSU) alumna will be inducted into the National Black
College Alumni Hall of Fame this week in Atlanta for her contributions made to WVSU and in her
profession of education.

The third annual BEX Oddities and Curiosities Fair will be held at Word Park in
downtown
Beckley on Sept. 24 from 5-9 p.m. The fair is a popular event in Beckley and is
specially designed to celebrate all things curious, bizarre, peculiar, fantastic,
extraordinary,
offbeat and eclectic.

During the National HBCU Week Conference convened by the U.S.
Department of Education and the White House, West Virginia State University (WVSU) announced a
collaboration with IBM to help establish a virtual WVSU Cybersecurity Leadership Center.

West Virginia State University junior Cedric Caschetta has been named a finalist for
the
2022 Propel Center Student Impact Scholarship, a program designed to support students at
Historically Black Colleges and Universities who are interested in pursuing careers in
entrepreneurship, arts and entertainment, agri-tech, social justice, energy and health.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Mid-Atlantic Region signed a memorandum of understanding today, the first of its type between
the two organizations, to promote partnership and opportunities.

Medicine have entered into a memorandum of understanding to better prepare
WVSU students who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of osteopathic medicine.

17, commemorating the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787.

West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) Early Enrollment Program is kicking
off
a series of six Welcome Days for Early Enrollment students to visit WVSU’s campus.
The
Welcome Days will be September 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, and 23.

West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) Associate Provost and Associate Vice
President for Academic Affairs Dr. Micheal Fultz has been named the 2021 Professor of the Year
by the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) 4-H has created a Hispanic Heritage Month program that will run from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 for classrooms and families to learn about Spanish-speaking countries and Hispanic traditions.
