West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service’s WV Tree Minders and
Ohio County West Virginia University (WVU) Extension Educator Karen Cox will be holding a
webinar from 11 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, on site assessment for tree planting.

WVSU’s campus offices will be closed Nov. 21-25 and will reopen on Nov. 28.
WVSU’s Dining Hall will be open for brunch from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and dinner
from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 through Wednesday Nov. 23 and again on Sunday, Nov.
27. The Dining Hall and Starbucks Café will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 through
Saturday, Nov. 26 for Thanksgiving. Starbucks will be open from noon to 4 p.m. on
Saturday, Nov. 19 through Wednesday, Nov. 23 and again on Sunday, Nov. 27.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) is holding a blood drive in partnership with the
American Red Cross on Nov. 7-8 as part of the fourth annual Blood Drive Battle with the
University of Charleston (UC).

The West Virginia State University Agricultural and Environmental Research
Station is partnering with West Virginia University and Future Generations University to
implement a comprehensive program benefiting maple producers and landowners throughout West
Virginia and all regions where maple syrup is being produced using natural vacuum.

exciting new effort to promote STEM initiatives to local middle school students. The Yellow
Jacket Innovators: A STEM Career Series program will introduce STEM career pathways through
immersive activity kits.

West Virginia State University Extension Service 4-H Educator Tiffany Ward has been
named
State Coordinator for the Junior Master Gardener program.

Three former United States service members and brothers will be posthumously inducted
Friday, Oct. 7, in the West Virginia State University (WVSU) ROTC Hall of Fame. The ceremony
is
scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Erickson Alumni Center with a reception to follow.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host a dedication ceremony Friday, Oct. 7,
at
11:30 a.m. to formally name a campus building and the complex that surrounds it in honor of
former WVSU President Dr. Hazo W. Carter, Jr. and his wife, Judge Phyllis Carter.
