Juneteenth is a celebration connected to the emancipation of African Americans in the
United States and their struggle for civil and human rights. According to the
National
Juneteenth Observance Foundation, Juneteenth is the “oldest known celebration
commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.”

WVSU continues efforts to strengthen its agricultural, food, and natural resources
programming through infrastructure improvement activities at the site of the former West
Virginia Rehabilitation Center in Institute.

classes for the fall 2020 semester utilizing a modified academic calendar that was announced

WVSU Extension Service will host a series of free virtual 4-H programs throughout the
summer for young people ranging in age from preschool to high school. Programs will cover
topics
such as performing arts, writing, gardening, Spanish and mentoring.

A member of the West Virginia State University (WVSU) communications and marketing team
