INSTITUTE, W.Va. — West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host nearly 500 high
school seniors on Friday, November 15, for West Virginia GEAR UP Day.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) will host a student musical production of the Tony award-winning “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder” November 20-23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis Fine Arts Theatre on the University’s Institute campus. The production is the University’s first student musical since 2016 and the first time the show has been produced in West Virginia.

The Alliance for the Economic Development of Southern West Virginia is sponsoring a
conference, Monday, November 18, to discuss Southern West Virginia successes, explore
opportunities that exist in the region and develop new connections and partnerships.

workshop on “Business Fundamentals” Wednesday, November 20, from 1 p.m. to

p.m. The free event is being co-presented by the West Virginia Small

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -West Virginia State University (WVSU) and Southern West
Virginia Community and Technical College (SWVCTC) leaders today signed a memorandum of
understanding enabling students who complete a two-year, associate degree at SWVCTC in biology

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing beginning with the fall 2020 semester now that the

has been approved by the West Virginia Nursing Board.

Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) to conduct research activities
relating
to groundwater quality and remediation. The agreement will establish a protocol, executive
research methods and publishing of results relating to the protection of West Virginia
groundwater from contamination of spilled petroleum products.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will host a free workshop on
entrepreneurial farming and food manufacturing Thursday, November 14, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
at Ohio Valley University in Vienna, West Virginia.

INSTITUTE, W.Va.West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) Department of Music will host the first WVSU Vocal Ensemble Festival Tuesday, Oct. 29, beginning at 7 p.m. in the theatre of the Davis Fine Arts Building on the school’s Institute campus.
