West Virginia State University’s (WVSU) College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will hold its 23rd annual Research Symposium Friday, April 27, to share information and celebrate the scientific research being conducted by its students. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Hamblin Hall on campus.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., honored WVSU with a $20,000 gift to support the
University’s campaign to erect a statue and establish an endowed scholarship for WVSU
alumna and NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson.

annual Cares Day on Saturday, April 21, when hundreds of volunteers fan out to perform service
