A different kind of youth summer camp is launching at the West Virginia State
University
(WVSU) Economic Development Center (EDC) in Charleston. Designed to introduce and encourage
interaction with emerging technology, problem solving and entrepreneurship, the DigiSo Tech
Girls Maker Camp will begin on Monday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students at Mary C. Snow West Side Elementary in Charleston are becoming young farmers
thanks to a partnership between West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service and
the
Keep Your Faith Corp. that led to the installation of gardens at the school.

West Virginia State University (WVSU) graduate student Alejandra Alvarado has been
accepted into a doctoral program at the prestigious Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial
Microbiology in Marburg, Germany, part of a world-leading research organization with more than
30 Nobel Prizes awarded to its scientists.

The annual Summer Transportation Institute (STI) 4-H camp for students entering the
sixth
through ninth grade is now accepting applications for the June21-July 3 camp hosted by West
