Welcome to Student Support Services

The federally funded Student Support Services (SSS) Program provides comprehensive services to 220 West Virginia State University first generation and/or low-income college students. Through its services the program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with college requirements, and serves to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The focus of the learning community is the individual student and we are committed to supporting students throughout their college career through the following: academic and personal advising, tutoring, as well as workshops specifically designed to enhance college success. Additional services include cultural programming, help with financial aid, financial management, and career development.

  • Individual Tutorial Services - Professional academic specialist provide tutoring in a variety of subjects. When it comes to algebra, calculus, physics, English, criminal justice, or psychology, to name a few, we've got you covered.
  • Computer Lab - Having two computer labs for our program participants ensures available access and free printing is a treasure not often found.
  • Academic Planning/Academic Advisement – We offer assistance in course selection and class registration.
  • Study Room - If you need a quiet place to relax, do homework or just take a break, we have a space for that.
