Tim Alderman, Ph.D.

Tim Alderman earned his undergraduate degree in English from Duquesne University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in English at Purdue University, where his field was modern American and British literature, with a dissertation on American and British short story collections. At WVSU he has taught freshman composition I and II, Introduction to Literature, Writing for Business and Other Professions, General Education 100 (for which he contributed to and edited the textbook for several years) and 200, as well as Contemporary American Literature, and the English Senior Seminar, among other courses in Mark Twain and mystery and detective fiction. Formerly he also served as Chair of the English Department, the General Education program, and the Faculty Senate.
