3-21 Family Fun Day

World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day on March 21st to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes down syndrome. In recognition of World Down Syndrome Day, West Virginia State University is proud to announce our inaugural 3-21 Includes “U” Family Fun Day event on March 21, 2020 from 9:00am to 12:21pm (3 hours and 21 minutes).

This free event will offer up our campus to a variety of activities for the whole family. Focused on wellbeing, accessible activities will engage the brain and body through the areas of physical, mental, and emotional health. Events will be led by volunteer faculty, staff, and community members. Activities will be accessible to a variety of skills and abilities and all families with unique needs are invited to join us in celebrating inclusivity. Registration is encouraged but not required HERE.

WVSU’s College of Professional Studies, Extension Services, and Counseling and Accessibility Office are pleased to collaborate on this event with our partners at the National Down Syndrome Society and the Down Syndrome Network of West Virginia. The National Down Syndrome Society is the leading human rights organization for all individuals with down syndrome. The Down Syndrome Network of West Virginia enhances the lives of individuals with down syndrome by providing information, resources and support to families and professionals and promotes awareness and acceptance of individuals with down syndrome.
