WVSU | West Virginia State University

Welcome On Campus Students,

Welcome to West Virginia State University on-campus living! Our talented staff members and student leaders are committed to serving you and working with you to create an atmosphere conducive to academic, intellectual, social and emotional growth. We hope you will be proud to call our Residence Halls your home!

Whether you are a new or returning student, the Office of Residence Life professional staff members, along with Resident Advisors (RAs), and Resident Leaders (RLs), desk staff members and other staff will help you meet other students, learn your way around and become involved in campus life. Being part of the on-campus community means more than just residing within four walls. Living within the residence halls provides opportunities for interpersonal interactions with other students, faculty and staff members; access to campus resources; direct links to all university technology systems; and above all else, it provides a connection to the campus community as well as the surrounding communities.

A wealth of excitement exist around move-in as we prepare to open our new facility, Judge Damon J. Keith Scholars Hall. Additional details concerning Dawson and Keith Hall move-in logistics, floor plans and room amenity information will be available on our webpage in the very near future. Attached to this email you will find a wealth of information concerning your arrival such as dates, times, and what to bring. Once you move in, and prior to the start of classes, every resident is required to attend a floor meeting. This meeting is conducted by one of our professional staff members along with your RA/RL, and is an excellent opportunity to meet your floor mates, establish floor policies and expectations, and learn about opening week events. Check out the Welcome Week events during Aug. 14-30. I know you will find numerous activities you will not want to miss. Once you arrive on campus and have a question, problem, or need assistance, ask your RA! They're prepared to help you succeed at WVSU.
