West Virginia State University is moving to Google Apps for Education

West Virginia State University introduces Google Apps as State's email service for faculty, staff, and students.

As of January 1, 2011, all current faculty, staff, and students have been migrated to the new service. Any accounts created after this date are automatically created on the new service.

What exactly is Google Apps?

Google Apps is a suite of online tools that makes communication and collaboration easier and more efficient. The core component to Google Apps is GMail (Google Mail) which is Google's web-based email program. GMail integrates with Google Calendar to allow coordinating schedules, meetings, and resources easer. Google Apps is hosted online, so the email, calendar events, documents are accessible from any computer anywhere in the world.

So what all do I get?

  4. Instant Messaging
