Academics

A college career at West Virginia State University (WVSU) offers numerous possibilities to learn and explore areas that not only interest you, but will lead to a rewarding career after graduation. WVSU offers bachelor’s degrees in 21 major fields of study as well as graduate degrees in biotechnology, law enforcement and administration, and media studies. We also offer a host of minors that students may explore while they work on their major field of study.

Students at WVSU benefit from a student to faculty ratio of 17:1, meaning our students are able to learn in a comfortable, supportive environment, while experiencing the academic opportunities typically associated with a much larger university. WVSU also makes it easy for students who started their college careers elsewhere to transfer to Institute so that they may finish their degrees. We even offer programs for students who decided to take time away from classes for work or family who wish to step back into the classroom and resume work on their college education.
