Alpha Delta Mu National Social Work Honor Society
The national Social Work Honor Society which recognizes academic achievement in the field of Social Work. To be eligible for membership, you must:

  1. Complete 60 hours of study
  2. Achieve a 3.0 GPA computed overall
  3. Earn a “B” or better in each social work course undertaken. (A minimum of 6 credit hours in Social Work courses is required.)

Alpha Delta Mu emphasizes scholarship and the development of programs that will further the student’s education. The chapter sponsors programs for students and the community, and works closely with the Social Work Student Organization (The Club). Members learn about social work graduate school programs, and frequently help in the arrangements for our Annual Agency Fair. (The Agency Fair brings to campus representatives from public and private agencies to provide the student with career and employment information.) During the annual university’s Founders Week activities, members of ADM are recognized by the University Administration and Faculty for their academic accomplishments.

Social Work Student Organization-a community service organization. (aka, “The Club”)
The Club has been active since the Social Work Program was first accredited. Students are cordially invited to join with us and participate in its activities. It offers you the opportunity to socialize and fraternize with like-minded students in learning more about social work, employment opportunities and to provide needed and wanted services to our community. The Club has been active since the Social Work Program was first accredited. Students are cordially invited to join with us and participate in its activities.

The purpose of the Social Work Students Organization (The Club) is to develop and maintain communications among social work students, faculty, and the general public and to provide a means for united action on issues of social concern. The Club also provides social work students with many opportunities to become involved on campus and in the community through volunteering, serving on committees, and becoming elected officers.

Through the Club, students are given the opportunity to work with (and get to know) their socia work peers, faculty and community - which can be one of the most rewarding and beneficial things they do while in college. We are a group of Individuals committed to the same cause helping others.

Rules and Responsibilities of Members
  • Participate in the organization as much as possible.
  • Volunteer for 5 hours of service per semester.

Social Work Student Advisory Council

A group of student-majors who formally serve as a conduit for influencing the Social Work program’s policies and procedures An elected representative from this group attends and participates in all departmental meetings.
