Yes. Since 2004, West Virginia State has been a university, awarding bachelor's degrees in 21 different programs and master's degrees in four programs.

I am an athlete, can I play sports at WVSU?

Yes. WVSU competes at the NCAA Division II level in five men's sports and five women's sports. Men's sports are baseball, basketball, football, golf and tennis, while women compete in basketball, cross country, softball, tennis and volleyball.

WVSU's colors are old gold and black and the school's nickname is The Yellow Jackets.
